We feel it’s important to have a family GP that you are happy with, one that you can rely on, and one that knows your family history inside out. This will increase the chance of a fast diagnosis and therefore result in quicker treatment for the patient.

Family Planning

A full range of family planning services is available from the practice, these include;

• Oral contraceptive pills

• Injectable contraceptives

• Implanon insertion

• Emergency contraception

• Mirena Coil Or Copper Coil insertion and removal

Pregnancy Care

We are delighted to offer Combined Ante-Natal Care, usually with an obstetrician, under the Maternity and Infant Care scheme.

Cervical Smear Tests

We are pleased to welcome the National Cervical Screening Programme which is running since late 2008. All women between the ages of 25 and 60 are entitled to a cervical smear test free of charge, every 3 years up to the age of 45 and every 5 years to age 60.

​

Cervical smear testing is an important tool in the prevention of cancer and we would like to encourage all women who attend the practice to undergo this simple test on a regular basis (once you have a smear in the practice, our recall system is available to remind you when your next smear is due!

We are very experienced in all matters relating to men’s health.

We are happy to discuss erectile issues, low testosterone, the andropause, self-examination, and prostate issues.

We are aware many men find it difficult to talk about their mental health but we encourage you to get in touch if you’re concerned.

We realise that while keeping your children safe from major illnesses is crucial. We are able to provide you with all childhood vaccinations and other children’s health services. 

We provide the national free childhood immunisation program in the practice which starts at two months of age and continues to 13 months

We are delighted to offer Combined Ante-Natal Care, usually with an obstetrician, under the Maternity and Infant Care scheme.

We offer a comprehensive range of sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing. Whether you are concerned about symptoms or for a reassuring check, we treat each consultation with complete confidence and discretion.

If you have any questions about STI’s, all of our GP’s are experienced in this area and can answer any queries you have, or offer advice on this topic.

​

A full STI screen will require a blood sample and urine sample and should you have any specific concerns, then this can be investigated as necessary.

We  offer comprehensive health screen services including, but not limited to: Blood testing, Height, weight, body mass index, ECG testing, pulmonary function test, cervical smear, blood pressure both initial and 24 hour monitoring available

We perform a wide range of minor surgery and procedures in house, avoiding the need to visit hospital. Most procedures fully covered by Private Health Insurance.

We also offer joint steroid injection under the experienced care of Dr. Ciara Murphy. 

Nua Medical Practice provides the annual flu vaccination.

We also offer pneumonia vaccination in addition to travel vaccinations

Mental health and wellbeing is as important as physical wellbeing.

All of our doctors are very experienced in managing various aspects of mental wellbeing and we encourage our patients to discuss with us any issues they may be having
